Alicia Hotel Liverpool Wedding Photography
Sarah & Gareth
“There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung†~The Beatles
I know, I know, it’s an obvious and rather hackneyed reference to Liverpool’s finest export (apart from the football team in red, of course – apologies all you Toffees fans out there…), but love really is all you need. And I’m happy to say that there was plenty of that evident at the wedding of Sarah and Gareth at the Alicia Hotel in Liverpool earlier this month.
To be honest I rarely venture out of the southeast to photograph weddings – not that I don’t want to of course, but as I market myself primarily as a South London Wedding Photographer that’s where most of my enquiries and clients tend to come from. I was referred by a good friend of mine Hazel, who I had the pleasure of attending University with back in the day (I won’t tell you how long ago that was, it’s all really rather embarrassing…!)
So with suitcase packed I dared to make the trip north of Watford, and was amazed to find that there’s a whole world outside of London! Who’d have thunk?! In all seriousness I’d visited Liverpool before as a scraggy teenager, so was thrilled to have the opportunity to visit this fantastic city again.
The wedding didn’t let me down. Sarah and Gareth are two of the nicest people you’ll have the pleasure of meeting. Unassuming and down to earth, and their friends and family were exactly the same. I always find it a huge privilege when I’m allowed into a couple’s world for the day – as a photographer, you’re not there solely to capture beautiful images, but also to mingle and chat to all the guests. In other words, you’re an honorary friend of the couple for the day (and I’d like to think that this friendship will last long after the wedding day is over).
Anyway, enough of my philosophising – here are some of the best photos from the day:
