Whenever I receive a wedding enquiry from an interested couple, I always try and meet them as soon as possible. It’s all part of the service, innit?

Sometimes this means travelling far and wide, but to me it’s important – I appreciate that wedding photography is a substantial investment, added to the fact I’ll be spending most of the wedding day following the couple around. To me it’s crucial to see if we’ll get on beforehand, and if we do I know their wedding is going to be brilliant!

However, sometimes it’s a breath of of fresh air when a couple who get in touch live just round the corner, which was the case with Gemma and Tom. After they contacted me about their wedding at Rowhill Grange Hotel, I jumped in the car and three minutes later I was sitting in their living room having a cup of coffee, chatting about their wedding day.

A couple of months before the wedding they invited me over once again, and this time gave me cakes and croissants as well as lots of coffee. In fact, I’m thinking of moving in with them as soon as possible (I haven’t told them yet, so keep it to yourselves please!!)

From the outset it was clear that their wedding was going to be laid-back, down to earth and full of humour – much like Gemma and Tom, in fact! So it proved to be; the weather was glorious, the venue spectacular and a fantastic day was had by all.
