Meet Your Wedding Photographer

Read more about what I can do for you...

A wedding photographer, a half-decent guitarist and a lover of all things creative (music, design, photography, art…and cake. Mmmm, cake.)

There are lots of things to consider when choosing a wedding photographer, as I’m sure you’ll agree! Here’s what to look out for before committing:

1. Personality

When selecting your wedding photographer, it’s important to choose someone whose personality aligns with yours. That’s why I always like to meet my couples in person, so we can have a chat, a cup of coffee (and some cake, of course), and discuss exactly what it is you’re looking for in regards to wedding photography. We’ll be working together for a year or so in the lead up to your wedding, from the initial meeting through to the pre-wedding session and the big day itself.

2. Price

While price is extremely important in selecting your wedding photographer, it shouldn’t be the only thing that matters. I hear stories all the time of brides who chose a photographer based solely on price, and deeply regretted it afterwards. You have to fall in love with your photographer’s work, and also meet in advance to ensure you get on with your chosen photographer. After all, I’ll be mingling with your friends, family and guests at your wedding so your peace of mind is paramount…

"Dan was our absolutely brilliant wedding photographer and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him because I simply couldn’t fault him if I tried. We’re so happy with the photos he took, he managed to capture the best moments...I couldn't be happier with our choice of photographer, he was excellent!"

3. Coverage

It’s important that you choose a photographer who won’t disappear halfway through your wedding! That’s why all my wedding collections contain at least eight hours of coverage, or ten if you’d like more peace of mind. I know from experience that weddings sometimes overrun (timelines are important but shouldn’t be gospel), so I’ll be there for the whole day to capture all those amazing memories.

4. Wedding albums

What will you do with all the photographs I provide from your wedding? All my collections come with digital files provided in a luxury presentation USB box, but I know that a lot of my couples tend to tuck their USB in a draw, never to be seen for months at a time.

That’s why most of my wedding photography collections come with a luxury printed wedding album. I’m a firm believer that photography isn’t real unless it exists in the printed form, and the albums I provide will be conversation pieces for years to come, as well as heirloom items to treasure.

5. Additional wedding photographer

How many photographers will you require to cover your wedding? Sometimes it’s best to have two photographers to ensure that every moment is captured and every gorgeous detail photographed. My mid and top-range collections include an assistant wedding photographer, so you can be sure that nothing will escape our attention!

So what’s this all about?

Nobody deserves bland, boring wedding images where everyone’s standing in a row and staring blankly at the camera, wishing they were at the bar.

When you book me to photograph your wedding, this happens:

  1. Somewhere in Kent, a small choir bursts into song in celebration
  2. You’ll have me from dawn til dusk (well, from getting ready until the dancefloor has well and truly kicked off, anyway)
  3. You’ll marvel as I blend in with your guests and have a laugh and a joke with them – most of the time you’ll forget I’m even there
  4. You’ll receive amazing photographs of all the bits you’ll miss because you’re schmoozing and mingling (I don’t have eyes in the back of my head, but my glasses prescription is excellent).
  5. You’ll have the option of receiving a stunning heirloom wedding album you’ll treasure and adore for the rest of your life
  6. You’ll also receive a 100% guarantee that you’ll absolutely adore your wedding photos and the service provided – or you’ll receive all your money back, no questions asked!

"Dan was friendly, worked very hard and was unobtrusive throughout. He took photographs that were of the highest quality and captured all the special moments of the day. We highly recommend him!"

So who am I and what’s my story?

I’ve always felt compelled to create, ever since I was a kid. I remember being addicted to drawing pictures of Superheroes: Iron Man, Spider Man and Superman were lovingly etched onto paper, copied from my well-read and extremely crinkled Marvel and DC comics.

My other passion in life apart from photography is music, and I can remember learning how to play the theme from Chariots of Fire by ear when I was 10. We were on holiday in Florida staying with my Mum’s Auntie and cousin, and they had the funkiest keyboard I’d ever seen with buttons everywhere. So I pressed every button I could and was fascinated by the sound that came out (my Mum told me off because she was convinced I was going to break the keyboard, but hey, genius isn’t created without experimentation, right…?!)

Fast-forward some years later and I discovered the electric guitar, and thus began a musical journey that continues to this day. I’ve been writing songs for a number of years now, and have even been featured on a couple of compilation albums back in the day.

I remember receiving a Polaroid instant camera for Christmas many years ago, and was blown away by the photo appearing before my very eyes (imagine how I felt when digital photography came along…blimey…) Photography is deceptively simple – yes, it’s essentially pressing a button – but there are a multitude of creative decisions to be made before that moment arrives.

Wedding photography allows me to stoke this creative fire, and also allows me to meet and work alongside people from all walks of life. Not only that, it allows me to create something that makes them unbelievably happy – treasured photographs from one of the most amazing days of their lives. What’s not to love about that?
